Bluebell Railway Wedding Photography

Hannah and Ben’s Bluebell Railway wedding photography. Oh, what a day! Given that Ben is an avid train enthusiast, the wedding was in the perfect venue! Consequently, these guys certainly had a thoroughly enjoyable time!

So, the Bluebell Railway for those not in the know is a collection of vintage steam engines! These run between East Grinstead and Sheffield Park. The railway staff all dressed in period clothing (which looked brilliant). The stations themselves are all preserved in different periods of history. The couple tied the knot at Horsted Keynes (restored to the Southern Railway period in the mid-1920s). It had lots of features for great wedding photography. You may recognise it, since it has been used as a filming location for film and television, including Downtown Abbey!

The civil partnership ceremony was held in the station waiting room on the platform at Horsted Keynes. This was followed by their own private steam train! It transported the couple and their guests through the Sussex countryside whilst enjoying their wedding breakfast.

We love to photograph weddings with a difference… this gives us the opportunity to create some really unique wedding photos. We love quirky wedding portraits, and really any unusual wedding photos add character to the mix of our documentary wedding photography style.

Hannah and Ben were a really lovely couple to photograph and all their guests were fully “on board” with the theme of the day.
